Black coffee or Kopi O was developed by Hainanese who migrated to Malaysia when many sailed to the shores of Nanyang during the late Qing dynasty. Drinking bitter and acidic western coffee reluctantly was a way of socialising and doing business with westerners, but they were unaccustomed to drinking western style coffee. Back to the history, those hainanese who stayed in Malaysia or Singapore were running a coffee shop business. They modified the coffee roasting formula by added in with sugar, margarine, and salt. Now days, this type of coffee is popular in Malaysia and Singapore coffee shops, typically known as kopitiams. It’s dark and glossy, with a rich, fragrant flavour. In the kopitiams, if you`re been served, they will asked you such a questions :
Will you want your brew with condensed milk? Just ask for kopi O. Fancy it black, no sugar. They will used their own blend Liberica + Robusta mixed beans for the roasting. When handled right its low acidity and full flavour make for a delicious result.Specifications :Kopi O Asli – 20 sachets – Box PackKopi O Asli – 50 sachets – Soft PackKopi O Asli – 100 sachets – Container Pack
